Land Acknowledgement

NORDIK Institute works side by side with Indigenous people on the homelands of Batchewana First Nation, Garden River First Nation, Missanabie Cree First Nation and the Metis people. We recognize the site on which our office is located is the site of the former Shingwauk Indian Residential School. NORDIK Institute recognizes the intergenerational impacts that resulted, and we commit to honoring this history for the survivors, their families, and for those who did not return home. We actionably commit to building vibrant, strong, continued relations with the local nations of Baawaating. In the spirit of peace and friendship we value our treaty relationship, the lands on which we reside and Indigenous communities everywhere while challenging the systems of oppression.
